One of the things that makes Laminam stand out is the flexibility of its products. With different formats, thicknesses, and technical specifications available, there's a solution for a wide range of projects.
But, when selecting a slab, what do these specifications actually mean?
Mesh-Backed Slabs: +
You'll notice a plus sign beside some Laminam products. This identifies slabs with a fibreglass mesh backing, applied to the back of the slab using a dedicated adhesive.
The mesh provides additional reinforcement to the slab and is an important specification to look for when reviewing product options.
Full-Size Slabs: ◆
Some products feature a diamond symbol beside the product name. This indicates that the slab is supplied in its original, full-size format, straight from the kiln, without being rectified.
This gives fabricators more material to work with when cutting and processing the slab, helping them make better use of the available surface and reduce waste.
Choosing the Right Thickness
Laminam slabs are available in a range of thicknesses, each suited to different applications. At Julian Tile, we carry options from 5mm to 20mm.
5mm: Commonly used for flooring and wall cladding.
12mm: A popular choice for kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities.
20mm: Ideal for countertops and other applications where a thicker, more substantial profile is preferred.
