The Tile you didn’t know existed!

Atlas Plan - 20mm slabs

For the past 10 years, porcelain technology has drastically changed. Digital graphic printing, more complex glazes, & different firing processes have paved the way for some of the most unique, colourful, & innovative tiles ever seen; And none have been larger (literally or figuratively) than the advent of the porcelain slab.

Porcelain slabs were born from the idea of taking a natural looking product (marble, quartzite, granite…) and replicating it in tiles, which allows for more consistency & less maintenance than its natural counterpart. The concept is not new but with the technology now available it is possible to produce extremely large materials (4’ x 9’ and 5’ x 10’), at multiple thickness (6mm, 12mm, and 20mm).

So where can slabs be used? Essentially wherever you can think of. Fireplaces? Absolutely! Porcelain slabs are made in kilns that reach over 1000°c. Shower walls? Of course! Porcelain is, a better option for shower applications, as it is impervious to water and does not require any sealing to prevent damage or staining. Countertops & backsplashes? Yup! There are a variety of thicknesses available to create the kitchen of your dreams. And with porcelains incredible resistance to heat, you can leave a pot on your countertop with no worries of damaging or discolouring the slab.

Porcelain slabs also have a huge benefit over marbles, quartz, and granite slabs on outdoor applications as porcelain is frost & UV resistant. When exposed to the elements your slabs will always look just as gorgeous as the day they were installed.
