Discover Zellij : Rooted in Moroccan craft, re-imagined in modern formats.
Introducing the new Zellji collection, crafted in Spain with a dedication to detail and design excellence.
The term Zellij, also known as Zellige, comes from the Arabic meaning of polished stone or small polished tile. The craft originated in southern Spain and Morocco. Traditionally, Zellij was hand produced, where artisans would glaze the tiles, hand chisel them into geometric shapes and assemble them into a mosaic puzzle.
Due to its origin, each piece has unique variations in colour, texture, and shine. The imperfect perfection creates a handmade feel and the soothing colour palette offers balance between warmth and sophistication, a timeless foundation for modern design. Zellij is an elevated tile made with intent and offering heritage.
Traditionally, Zellij is used to decorate walls, fountains and low walls. The modern resurgence introduces tradition and freshness to kitchens, bathrooms, and walls. The artisan textures reflect light differently, creating depth and movement in the stagnancy.
The 3x10 tiles are recommended for backsplashes, accent walls, bathroom walls or showers, and bordering.
The 5x5 tiles are recommended for wall details, small spaces, entryways, and fireplace surroundings.
